This project seeked to provide a community and improve the quality of life for the residents of the area. By composing a cohesive site, this project would revitalize the area of Chicago that it lies on. The extensive retail space for residents of the live-work spaces and group homes to explore will be a way for them to bond as a community. The office space presented within the site will bring in outside visitors from neighboring areas to further create a bustling community.
Live-Work apartments allow for the people that occupy them to have a space in which they can work from home. These apartments would have lofted bedrooms to allow for ample vertical space for artists to work on art pieces. This also allows for ample amounts of natural light to enter the apartments. The ground floor would contain retail stores for people to buy necessities without traveling far from their apartment. Included with the amenities are collaborative spaces for people to use for meetings or art works.
