Project Type: Addition

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Sofware: Revit, Lumion, Photoshop, Illustrator

The objective of this project was to create a better entrance for the City Museum in St. Louis, Missouri and to develop a site that was unsightly to compliment the museum. The overall concept of this projects was "Exploratory Tubes". There are pathways, or tubes, throughout the site that are meant to invoke curiosity and make people who visit want to explore the whole site instead of just going directly to the building. The idea for this came from the City Museum itself as it has many different areas to explore.
The 1st floor the proposed addition will have two main entrances on the north-east and south-west sides. Within the building, there will be an office space consisting of three offices, a work room, a break room, and a conference room. A gathering space is centered within the building with a ticket booth to guide guests into the City Museum. The entrance to the City Museum is on the second floor and is accessible by a connecting bridge leading over the road between the two buildings. This connection on the second floor is meant to mimic the existing connection of the City Museum to the neighboring shoe factory as well as to promote security.
